When I think about tithing. I think about God’s prosperity. I know a lot of people get this weird vibe about tithing that makes them feel that a preacher is out to get all their money. that someone is saying donate here and God will give you another empty promise.
I think part of that comes down to how you give. if you do give you should give with a willing heart and without expectation. If there is something in the air telling your inner man not to give, don’t. follow that still small voice of God in your mind.
I get excited about the thought of tithing. It puts God in a position to take action for you. it also puts you in a position to grow in faith and trust for God.
In Malachi 3 God takes time to tell us about our giving. But you ask, ‘How are we to return?’ 8 “Will a mere mortal rob God? Yet you rob me. “But you ask, ‘How are we robbing you?’ “In tithes and offerings. 9 You are under a curse—your whole nation—because you are robbing me. 10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. 11 I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not drop their fruit before it is ripe,” says the Lord Almighty. 12 “Then all the nations will call you blessed, for yours will be a delightful land,” says the Lord Almighty.
I get excited because it’s one of the only times God says to test him. test him to see if he will bless you so much that there will not be room enough to store it. I want to live in abundance like that. I want to live in the overflow that others will become affected by it. but not just abundance. God also prevents pests from devouring my crops, and fruit will always harvest. THEN, I will be recognized by all that God is amazing. P
In the same verse above, God talks about removing the curse over our lives. I’ve heard it said that the curse is not anything that happens, but rather, we cut ourselves off from the blessings of heaven when we don’t tithe. If by being obedient to C
In Stephan Aarnio’s book, he talks about having an open hand to riches. you can give and receive from an open hand. He speaks about how having a closed hand cuts
A great verse many people love is Psalm 23: Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,[c] I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.6 Surely[d] goodness and mercy[e] shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell[f] in the house of the Lord forever.[g]
This causes me to think about my cup. That God would fill my cup up until it overflows. I spend time with God, in his anointing, meditating day and night. I listen and be obedient to him with tithing and God fills me up. not only does God fill me up, but I also get to overflow in his presence, in his blessings, in his protection, and I get to be placed where the whole world can see and let God’s light shine from me.
If this inspires you to give. Please pray and ask God where you should give. a tithe is 10% of everything that God gives you. God wants you to bring your tithe into the storehouse. the storehouse is where you get fed. How is your spirit being fed and who is doing the feeding? I encourage you to step up and bring your tithe before God and test him to see what he does. I’ve committed to doing this for 6 months to see what God does. I also don’t give to one source. I give to my church, but I also give to charities and other people I feel led to give to.
